Description
Fundamentals of Vascular Ultrasound Year 1 course covers the core topics of vascular ultrasound including; imaging of the carotid and vertebral arteries; the lower and upper limb deep venous systems e.g. deep vein thrombosis; and the aorta.
Term 1 of the course aims to develop your knowledge and skills. Hence, there is a selection of faculty notes, e-books links, videos demonstrating key scanning techniques and carefully selected open source learning material. During this stage, you will undertake a number of online quizzes to demonstrate your retention of learned material. Following that, in Term 2, you will submit for faculty review representative images or cine loops of vascular case scenarios reflecting the above topics. If appropriate to your role, you will utilise the above skills to formulate a plan of action. At the end of each module, there will be assessments of knowledge and practical skills.
