Our online subfertility and reproductive medicine course leading to the Diploma in “Reproductive Medicine for Healthcare Professionals” is now available for applicants and will be submitted for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), a body set up by the European Union of Medical Specialties (UEMS) in 1999. UEMS is a non-governmental organisation representing national associations of medical specialists in the European Union and in associated countries.
The online subfertility and reproductive medicine course includes the following modules. Additional modules will be published as they become available.
In this module module, you will develop an understanding of the basics of female reproduction, be able to evaluate factors affecting fertility and develop skills to undertake an assessment of subfertile couple, and recommend appropriate treatments.
In this module you will develop an understanding of the basics of male reproduction and spermatogenesis, evaluate factors affecting male fertility, demonstrate skills to undertake an assessment of men with fertility problems, and recommend appropriate treatments.
This module introduces novices to the principles of imaging science. You will learn the basics of image formation and artefacts, image optimisation techniques, safety of ultrasound and Doppler effect.
This module introduces you to the principles of scanning in infertility and gynaecology. You will learn to identify key anatomical pelvic structures, pathologies and apply a systematic approach to scanning.
This module introduces the principles of scanning in early pregnancy following fertility treatment. You will learn to identify key anatomical early pregnancy structures and the principles of a systematic approach to scanning.
The aim of this module is to build on the core gynaecological ultrasound skills and to further develop them to Level 2 scanning. Learners will acquire knowledge and develop skills in several areas.
This module will introduce you to the principles of scanning in early pregnancy. You will learn to identify key anatomical early pregnancy structures and the principles of a systematic approach to scanning.
The aim of this module is to develop your knowledge of ultrasound examination of both normal and abnormal fetal cardiac conditions. You will be able to recognise fetal cardiac anatomy and pathology.
The aim of this module is to enable you to develop the relevant knowledge and skills to undertake confidently and competently a vascular ultrasound examination, interpret and report the findings.
(8-12 weeks Basic RCOG Curriculum only)
This module aims to teach learners the principles of machine setup, and to perform and conduct scans competently, to identify viability and dating in early pregnancy, and care required during ultrasound examinations.
(Basic RCOG Curriculum only)
This module aims to teach learners the principles of machine setup, basic obstetric practice, and preparation and care of patients appropriately during ultrasound examinations.
(Intermediate RCOG Curriculum only)
In this module trainees will develop a thorough understanding of fetal anatomical structures, care during ultrasound examinations, and will learn to conduct a thorough systematic examination of the fetus.
(FSRH Ultrasound Curriculum)
This module enables practitioners in sexual and reproductive health to develop knowledge and skills required to undertake confidently and competently a systematic ultrasound examination of the pelvis.
