The “andrology for clinicians” course module is delivered in two stages. The total duration of the module including revision and assessments is approximately 48 weeks.

What will you learn?
In Andrology for Clinicians module, you will learn and be able to; (1) develop and apply knowledge in human embryology and formation of the male genital tract to identify the most relevant factors implied in male subfertility; (2) analyse the main features of male reproductive endocrinology and assess any dysfunction or failure; (3) outline the most relevant factors implied in male subfertility; (4) develop knowledge in semen analysis features and their interpretation; (5) propose appropriate investigations (semen analysis, endocrine, genetic, immunological and microbiological tests) to arrive at cause of subfertility; (6) generate a possible diagnosis for the male partner; (7) utilise knowledge and skills acquired in this and the “Fundamentals in Human Reproductive” course to propose a differential diagnosis and best treatment option(s) for the couple including medical, surgical and/or assisted reproduction treatments such as Intrauterine insemination, IVF and ICSI and; (8) appraise your professional role and accountability within the framework of clinical governance.
Structure
The module is delivered in 2 stages. Stage 1 is approximately 12 weeks long where you will develop your core knowledge and skills. This is facilitated by faculty lectures, e-books links, videos and carefully selected open source learning material. During this stage you will be expected to develop skills to appraise a full clinical history and undertake a thorough assessment of the male partner, describe and communicate to patients the normal anatomy, hormonal regulation of spermatogenesis. In Stage 2, you will submit for faculty review assignments from your own work including; representative images of common male sub- or infertility case scenarios identified during diagnostic tests e.g. ultrasound image of hydrocele or testicular mass, or normal/abnormal semen analysis reports, and reflections on cases encountered in your own practice . If appropriate to your role, you will utilise the above skills to formulate a plan of action.
During Stage 1 and Stage 2 you will undertake four short quizzes (two at each stage) for assessment of knowledge. At the end of the module, you will have assessments of knowledge. Assessment of practical skills is combined with the practical exam of “Fundamentals of Human Reproduction” course.

- UK/EU applicants – Consultants, Specialists, non-training staff, and Institutional Applications: Standard fee, £1355.00+VAT per module
- “Self-funding” UK NHS Hospital trainees, Healthcare Professionals, Nurses, Midwives and Radiographers: Bursary sponsored fee, £800.00+VAT per module. Bursary is subject to meeting eligibility criteria. Please enquire
- International students: Standard fee, £1355.00+VAT per module. Applicants from lower-middle income and low income countries are eligible for reduced fee. World Bank Classification apply. Check if your country is eligible!
- Entrance to “End-of-Module” knowledge assessments £75.00+VAT per module
- UK and Overseas “End-of-Module” clinical examination fee: £400.00+VAT per module. This will take the format of an in-person or online “Zoom” oral examination (viva voce) with two examiners
- Resit of End-of-Module knowledge assessment (per module): £100.00+VAT
- Resit of “End-of-Module” clinical examination fees UK and overseas as above
