Academic subfertility and reproductive medicine international is an all-encompassing category dedicated to our students overseas who will be completing the practical skills domain at a later date or are not be able to undertake the practical exams. We have included all courses that our School of Reproductive Medicine currently offers. Ultrasound courses are delivered by the School of Ultrasonography. These courses focus on the academic domain of developing your practice in the field and are grouped into core and advanced subjects. The international courses have an identical academic syllabus to courses delivered in the UK. Students may complete the practical skills domain when they become available in the future.
On successful completion of three or more academic courses related to subfertility and reproductive medicine, you will be awarded the “Professional Certificate in Subfertility and Reproductive Medicine”. Core courses are fundamental to effective and safe practice in subfertility and reproductive medicine field.
Fundamentals in Human Reproduction International focuses on the academic (knowledge) domain of developing your core knowledge in this field. It will start with an initial study period of 12 weeks. In Term 1, you will develop your core knowledge and skills. We will facilitate your learning with lectures, e-books links, videos, and carefully selected open source learning material.

Andrology for Clinicians International focuses on the academic (knowledge) domain of developing your core knowledge in this field. This course is fundamentally critical to develop your practice in subfertility and reproductive medicine. We have aligned the structure and syllabus of this programme with other professional bodies. These include the RCOG, BFS and ESHRE.

This “Core” course introduces novices to the principles of imaging science. You will learn the basics of image formation and artefacts, image optimisation techniques, safety of ultrasound and Doppler effect.

This course introduces you to the principles of scanning in gynaecology. You will learn to identify key anatomical pelvic structures, pathologies and apply a systematic approach to scanning.

This course introduces the principles of scanning in early pregnancy. You will learn to identify key anatomical early pregnancy structures and the principles of a systematic approach to scanning. You will also develop thorough understanding of early pregnancy complications.

The aim of this course is to build on core gynaecological ultrasound skills and to further develop your knowledge to higher level practise. Learners will acquire knowledge in several areas.

This module will introduce you to the principles of scanning in early pregnancy. You will learn to identify key anatomical early pregnancy structures and the principles of a systematic approach to scanning.
The aim of this module is to develop your knowledge of ultrasound examination of both normal and abnormal fetal cardiac conditions. You will be able to recognise fetal cardiac anatomy and pathology.
The aim of this module is to enable you to develop the relevant knowledge and skills to undertake confidently and competently a vascular ultrasound examination, interpret and report the findings.
(8-12 weeks Basic RCOG Curriculum only)
This module aims to teach learners the principles of machine setup, and to perform and conduct scans competently, to identify viability and dating in early pregnancy, and care required during ultrasound examinations.
(Basic RCOG Curriculum only)
This module aims to teach learners the principles of machine setup, basic obstetric practice, and preparation and care of patients appropriately during ultrasound examinations.
(Intermediate RCOG Curriculum only)
In this module trainees will develop a thorough understanding of fetal anatomical structures, care during ultrasound examinations, and will learn to conduct a thorough systematic examination of the fetus.
(FSRH Ultrasound Curriculum)
This module enables practitioners in sexual and reproductive health to develop knowledge and skills required to undertake confidently and competently a systematic ultrasound examination of the pelvis.
